Greetings LSDA Family,
I want to thank you for the birthday wishes as I hit the big "50"! It was a low-key day, because the big celebration is coming up on October 5th, of which all of you invited to come by our home in Joshua to drop-in and share time with my family and other friends. Yes, I know it is a little bit far in distance, but if you are able to come, we'd love to have you come and join us... It's a drop-in party from 6:30P-9:30P, so you can come by for as little, or as long, as you'd like. We will have activities and fun things to do, and best of all great conversations.
We are steps closer to getting the school building completed! There is touch-up and punch-list items to be finished, and it will have a bow on it of completion for the main school building. We still have work to do for the library / classroom within the church, and will be addressing it very soon. But overall we are wrapping it up!
Our KSCS Capital Campaign continues, even though we are wrapping up the renovation. We still need to complete the classroom as previously mentioned, and then we begin the portion of the fundraising which will bring in new furniture for the classrooms more conducive to learning and teaching in 2019. Additionally we will be implementing our technology, and adding smart boards and other pieces that allow us to enhance our S.T.E.M. programs for students in every grade.
Our most pressing need at the moment...
As you can see on the above graphic, we have planned at the end or our campaign to purchase two used 12 passenger vans for the school use. This is still the plan, with one minor adjustment. We have a wonderful, amazing young lady who is part of our student body is in a wheelchair, and she is unstoppable, except when we need to take our students off-campus for field trips or school programs elsewhere.
We have an urgent need to purchase a van with a wheelchair accessory, and we have the amazing opportunity to purchase one right now from Southwestern Adventist University for about 60% of what we would spend elsewhere, $10,000. It is a 2009 model with only 54K miles on it (photos below). It has been well-maintained by the University and will be a blessing for our school and our student(s).
If you would like to give to help us purchase this van, please mark your tithe envelope "KSCS Campaign - Van" and we will put the funds directly to this portion of the campaign so we can move forward quickly to purchase and register the van. We will also be adding our own graphics for the school, giving us a presence wherever the van goes on field trips and program outings.
9:30AM - Prayer Circles
9:45AM - Teachers set up classrooms
10:00AM - Connect Groups (all ages)

Have a great rest-of-the-week! Be a blessing to someone, and share your testimony to them by your life lived out, and using words when necessary!
See you Sabbath!
