Prayer Circles Tonight & Mid-Week Minute
Quick Reminder of Prayer Circles
At 7:30PM, TONIGHT,
we again meet for prayer circles hosted on ZOOM. This is a video conferencing platform, however, for those who are unable to video conference, you may also call in.
Please see instructions below, and join others for this time of prayer and praise! You are encouraged to join others in a time of fellowship, faith, prayer, and testimony. Beginning today, we will join together as one group, led by Yvette Akar, one of our elders.
We are working on the next steps of a district proposal which will put Lewisville and Arlington together as a district alignment, but operate as a multi-site campus in ministry and impact publicly. This has been a prayerful push forward in the last three months, and it would appear for all practical purposes that we are nearing the finish line. There are some details to iron out, and a key component is staffing for what would be considered the Lewisville Campus. I have expressed to the Arlington leadership the importance fo a campus pastor who lives within 15-20 minutes of the church, and can be heavily involved in the community as well. It would be best to have a campus pastor who knows the Arlington Church values well, but an alternative is a younger pastor who is new in the field, with maturity, who can be trained and mentored to the values which Arlington and Lewisville hold dear.
At our next leadership team meeting the senior pastor and associate pastor of Arlington will join in and take questions, and meet more of the leaders. This will let us continue to explore and address any concerns which arise.
There might be some thought that Lewisville is losing its identity, but I believe this is a move for Lewisville, which will keep much of its unique identity intact. To connect with the resources of a larger church can only be a benefit to Lewisville, especially to the children, youth, and young adult programs. With the campus pastor not needing to preach as much, they can focus on shepherding, leadership development, and discipleship. 20+ hours a week freed up from preaching will allow impact in other areas. This is just another advantage of the proposed district alignment.
Please keep this in prayer, and I ask you to please keep an open mind as to how God can use this for His glory. I am confident it will be a blessing to members, but even more so to the community around the church as new programs and life is injected into the church, with the financial resources to make a strong impact!
I would enourage you to check out the website for my ministry, which has published the outreach series I did this Spring, but is also working on a live event in the Burleson area to reach the 88.3 FM listening audience, our Christian Contemporary station on the campus of Southwestern Adventist University. It has been a three year dream of mine, and God is opening up some doors for this to come to fruition.
The best part? God has opened up some serious doors to allow a 12 night outreach event to take place, The Worship Experience, beginning on October 3, and continuing until December 19th. Each event takes place at 5PM. There will be community outreach events, as well as social activities included. Your prayers coveted for the success of this outreach series, and those who may attend!
